Thomas T. Haider, M.D.
is a Board Certified Spine Surgeon.


Dr. Haider earned his Bachelor and a Master of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Colorado, Boulder. Subsequently, he received his medical degree from Loyola University, Stritch School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in orthopedics as well as the fellowship training in spine surgery at the University Of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado

Dr. Haider is Chief of the Spine Division at Riverside County Regional Medical Center and the Chairman of the Biomedical Advisory Board of UCR/UCLA Thomas Haider Program in Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Haider and his wife Salma, are co-founders of the Children’s Spine Foundation, a charity focused on securing early intervention and treatment of spinal disorders for children without financial means.

Dr. Haider has developed and patented a surgical instrumentation for the use in spinal surgery. Royalties from the Haider/UCR Pedicle Instrumentation has been donated to the University of California, Riverside to aid in the development of their Medical School program. He is currently on the Clinical Faculty at the University of California, Riverside.

Dr, Haider received the Chancellor’s Medal of Honor in 1997 and the national AMA Pride in the Profession Award in 2001. He continues to receive multiple commendations and awards both locally and nationally for his surgical innovations, community service and his philanthropy. Dr. Haider is a past member of the Medical Board of California and was recently appointed by Governor Gray Davis to the State Bar Board of Governors.
